How I Got Here

It all began when

My cardiologist took me by the hands and said:  Sandy, if you don’t get this weight off, you won’t make it to 60 years old; I was 55 at the time.

Allow me to explain

I developed an unhealthy relationship with food at a young age and it was heightened in college when I struggled with debilitating self-doubt.  My ever-increasing anxiety turned into a raging binge eating disorder.  This eating disorder defined my life for the next 32 years and contributed to my diagnosis of Atrial fibrillation (AFIB ) at 50 and Congestive Heart Failure at 55.

And in that moment

I knew if I wanted to live I needed to change my diet and get help for my binge eating disorder.   This began my journey back to physical health.  But as I traveled this road back to health, I noticed that without the food to numb my feelings, my anxiety, fear, and nagging self-doubt increased.  I realized that if I wanted to maintain my sobriety over binge eating and keep the weight off,  I would have to address emotional aspects of my life that contributed to my binge eating in the first place.

As I began healing

I realized I had been living somebody’s else’s life, somebody else’s dream.   I had made life choices based on what I thought I “should” do and what I thought was expected of me.  Trying to mold myself into somebody I wasn’t led to my increasing self-doubt and chronic anxiety. That’s when I realized the powerful connection between emotional well-being and physical health!  Once I began to get in touch with what I truly wanted and how I wanted to show up in the world, and began putting those things first in my life, the anxiety lessened and my self-confidence began to soar!

I want to share what I have learned with YOU!

Although my physical transformation has been quite dramatic, it pales in comparison to my emotional transformation!  I now live my life from a vastly different viewpoint; instead of hesitating to go for what I want wondering “why me?” I now approach life by asking “why NOT me?”.   This has given me the courage to try difficult things despite the fear and uncertainty surrounding the outcome.  And now I want to guide others through their emotional transformation!  Nothing lights me up as much as seeing others soar!

The most important journey you will take in your life will usually be the one of self transformation. Often, this is the scariest because it requires the greatest changes, in your life
